11133BR – LP Driver – HIGHMORE, SD

  • Pick up and deliver product to customers in a safe, timely, and professional manner, ensuring the truck is operated in a safe manner at all times. Follow all guidelines and regulations for hauling Propane. Maintain logs with each shipment, completing daily invoices and reports. Perform visual inspection of truck before leaving premises and complete maintenance report on all deficiencies. Report all accidents, traffic violations, and damage to vehicles. Complete daily maintenance report and notify supervisor of any needed repairs. Maintain cleanliness of your truck both inside and out. Sweep trailers out after each use. Ensure on time loading and unloading and communicate with customers if delays occur. Provide excellent customer service, treating all customers in a friendly and courteous manner. Be available to load and/or unload your loads as needed. Make out daily trip sheet and other paper work as required. Use sound judgment and abilities to support the best interests of the company in all situations. Perform other related duties as needed or assigned. Assist in the feed warehouse when not delivering product.  Work additional hours and occasional Saturdays to meet business needs.

Internships:

11083BR – Internship: Procurement Merchandiser, Grain Accounting & Operations (Summer 2018) – PIERRE, SD

  • Make contact with farmers updating them on market trends, current grain quotes, and grain programs. Work closely with Merchandiser personnel (i.e., grain merchants, grain buyers, the hedge desk and accountants) in exchange of information. Call out, fax, or email bid changes and closing bids to customers. Report and type all purchasing contracts quickly and accurately. Process grain loads for multiple locations, ensuring accurate applications to contract, timely payments and high level customer satisfaction. Apply grain unloads to proper contracts for multiple locations to generate timely payment. Review grain settlement documents, process grain checks, and balance contract bookings daily. Verify contract confirmations and verify truck freight billings. Assist customers with questions or issues related to their deliveries, contracts, applications, and web portal account. Ensure that all documentation for every shipment is properly categorized and preserved. Work with the elevator and office staff in the exchange of information to enhance the flow of grain. Operate Bulk weigher, unload trucks. Grade grain and operate scale for inbound and outbound trucks. Gain knowledge and understanding of business.

11079BR – Internship: Agronomy Sales/ Operations/ Scouting (Summer 2018) – ONIDA, SD

  • Work exclusively with large Midwest Cooperative grower. Assist growers agronomist with crop scouting, soil sampling, and field agronomic problem solving. Use integrated pest management techniques to determine treatment thresholds. Generate written reports and present them to producer, supervisor and/or customer Learn the features and benefits of all agronomy products and services Learn to perform warehouse and agronomy plant operations. Scout producers fields and make adequate recommendations Learn how to maintain equipment and facility. Custom Application if qualified and/or if the need arises.

11082BR – Internship: Agronomy Sales Research Plot (Summer 2018) – PIERRE, SD

  • Work exclusively with Allegiant Plots through out the Midwest Cooperative trade territory. Assist Allegiant Rep and Agronomy Production Sales Specialists with crop scouting, soil sampling, and field agronomic problem solving. Use integrated pest management techniques to determine treatment thresholds. Generate written reports and present them to supervisor and/or customer Assist in inventory management procedures. Learn how to maintain equipment and facility. Work in and keep an environment that is compliant with state, local and CHS Environmental and Safety policy. Custom Application if qualified and/or if the need arises. Assist other departments as needed.

11021BR – Internship: Agronomy operations & Sales (Summer 2018) – PHILIP, SD

  • Gain knowledge of general agronomy skills such as scouting, crop protection products, crop nutrient products, seed, custom application procedures, mixing procedures, truck driving, and delivering product. Perform agronomy/seed operations. Monitor and maintain quality of inventory. Regulate and periodic housecleaning processes and record keeping. Assist with repairs and preventative maintenance for all agronomy equipment including legs, conveyors, towers, vehicles, sprayers, floaters, trucks, etc. Provide excellent customer service and assist customers as needed
